Why buy here

You own your apps. They run on your Mac.

Not rented monthly. Not a web page in a window. Not an account you have to keep paying to open your own files. Software you buy once, that works offline, keeps your data on your machine, and is still yours in ten years.

The problem

Somewhere along the way, buying software became renting it.

A text editor now needs an account. A menu bar utility bills you monthly. Your files sit on someone else’s server, and the day you stop paying, the tool you have used for years stops opening them. Nine dollars a month sounds like nothing. It is not nothing.

A $9 subscription, over time
Year one $108
Year two $216
Year three $324
Year four $432
Year five $540
Bought once $29
Paid once. Yours in year five, and year ten.
01
Safety

You can install anything here without thinking twice.

Every app is notarized by Apple — scanned for malware and signed before it is allowed to run — and then installed and used by a person on our team. No Gatekeeper warnings, no right-click-to-open workaround, no wondering whether the download site was the real one.

If it is listed here, it is safe to open.
02
Curation

Someone already said no, a lot.

We are sent far more software than we list. Most of it works and still does not belong: a thin idea, a web page in a window, an interface nobody thought about twice. You are not browsing everything that exists. You are browsing what survived a real opinion.

Roughly one in six submissions is listed.
03
Ownership

You buy the app. Not access to it.

One price, paid once. No seats, no tiers, no renewal that quietly doubles in year two. If we vanished tomorrow the app on your Mac would keep working — and your download, your key and your receipt would still be yours.

No subscriptions. None.
04
Privacy

It runs on your Mac, and stays there.

Most of what we sell needs no account, no sign-in and no connection at all. Your notes, your clipboard, your recordings, your files — they stay on the machine in front of you. We check what each app talks to before listing it, and write it on the page.

Works on a plane. Works with the wifi off.
05
Honesty

Nothing here is designed to hurry you.

No countdown timers. No “only 3 left”. No price that was never real, struck through in red. Screenshots come from the build you will actually download. If a piece of software needs a trick to sell it, the problem is the software.

The price you see is the price.
The standard

What an app has to pass.

Afterwards

And if something goes wrong.

If it is not what you expected

Tell us within 14 days and we refund it. No form to argue with, no “digital goods are final”. We would rather lose a sale than keep money from someone who is unhappy.

If something breaks

Write to us, not into the void. We know the developer personally and we will get you to a person who can actually fix it — or refund you if they cannot.

If the developer moves on

Your download and your licence stay in your library regardless. Software you have paid for should not disappear because someone got a job.

Reviews written by people who paid.

No stars to average away the meaning. No pop-up asking you to rate an app you opened once. Just sentences, from verified purchases — including the ones we would rather you did not read.

Questions

What people ask before buying.

How is this different from the Mac App Store?

Apps there are sandboxed, which quietly rules out most of the powerful Mac utilities — window managers, clipboard tools, launchers. Here they run properly, and a person chose each one instead of an algorithm ranking them.

Will anything here become a subscription later?

Not for what you already bought. A one-time purchase is a one-time purchase, permanently, and we do not list subscription software.

Do these apps send my data anywhere?

We check what an app talks to and write it on the listing. Most of what we sell works entirely offline and never phones home.

I got a new Mac. Do I pay again?

No. Sign in, open your library, download it again. Your licence is right there.

Are the reviews real?

They are written, not starred, and only by people who actually bought the app through us. We do not prompt for them and we do not remove the unflattering ones.

What if I want it on two Macs?

Personal licences cover the Macs you use. We are not going to count them.

A smaller catalogue is the point.

We are not trying to list every Mac app ever released. We are trying to make a place where you can open any page, read one screen, and buy with confidence — because someone already did the work of deciding whether it belongs. If that means growing slowly, we will grow slowly.
